How to score the answers of your questionnaire?

Updated over 2 months ago

After creating your questionnaire, you can score the responses once your candidates have answered them.

1. What is the score in a questionnaire for?

It allows you to assign a number of points to certain candidate answers. You can then prioritize candidates whose responses best match your expectations in your candidate list.

2. How does scoring work?

The operation is entirely configurable from the Questionnaires section:

  • You create your own questions.

  • You manually define the score associated with each answer.

  • The candidate's final score corresponds to the sum of the points obtained based on their answers.

  • The system does not decide for you: you are the one defining the selection criteria.

3. What types of questions allow the use of scoring?

Compatible questions:

  • Single choice: ideal for precise criteria (e.g., driver's license, education level).

  • Multiple choice: recommended for evaluating mastered skills, tools, or technologies.

Incompatible question:

  • Open text: no score can be applied to this format because the answers are freely written by the candidate.

Best practice: Whenever possible, prefer closed-ended questions to facilitate screening. Example: Instead of "What is your notice period?", offer Immediate / 1 month / 3 months.

4. How to assign points to answers?

When creating or modifying a question:

  1. Select a compatible question type (single or multiple choice).

  2. Enter the desired score for each answer in the Score column.

  3. Click Save question at the bottom of the page to validate.

5. Can negative scores be used?

Yes. It is possible to assign negative points (for example -500) to certain answers to penalize profiles that do not match your criteria.

6. Where to view the candidates' scores?

The candidate's total score is visible from your applications:

  • Consult the Score column.

  • If it is not displayed, click on Columns at the top right and activate the Score column.

7. Does the candidate see their score?

No. The score is internal. The candidate answers the questionnaire without knowing the weighting of the answers, which ensures more objective responses.

8. Why do some candidates have no score (–)?

This can happen in two cases:

  1. The candidate has not yet answered the questionnaire.

  2. The questionnaire only contains open text questions, which do not allow for point attribution.
